How to Clean Photos That Have Acquired Dirt

See this content in the original post

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

The best way to clean photos that have acquired dirt is to use gentle cleaning methods such as a microfiber cloth. Use a dry microfiber cloth and gently wipe away the dirt from the photo. If the dirt is more stubborn, you can dampen the cloth with distilled water and lightly wipe away the dirt.

Do not use any cleaners, solvents, or chemicals as they may damage the photo. While cleaning any photo, remember to take your time and be gentle.

If the dirt is still present after using a microfiber cloth, you can try using a soft paintbrush to gently brush away the dirt. Take care not to scratch the photo when using a brush and be sure to use a soft brush with bristles that are not too stiff.

For more stubborn dirt, you can also use a cotton swab with a small amount of mild soap or detergent. Dab the cotton swab on the dirt and then lightly wipe it away with a damp cloth. If the dirt still remains, you may need to contact a professional photo restoration service for more intensive cleaning.
