How To Clean Kitchen Cupboard Handles

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

Cleaning your kitchen cupboard handles is an important part of maintaining a clean and hygienic kitchen. Over time, handles can accumulate dirt, grease, and grime from daily use. Not only does this make them look dirty and unattractive, but it can also harbor bacteria and germs that can transfer onto your hands every time you use them. In order to keep your kitchen cupboard handles clean and germ-free, here are some simple steps you can follow:

1. Gather Supplies: Before starting the cleaning process, it's important to gather all the necessary supplies. This may include a mild dish soap, warm water, a sponge or cloth, a toothbrush, and a microfibre cloth for drying.

2. Remove Handles: If your cupboard handles are removable, it's best to take them off before cleaning. This will make it easier to access all areas of the handles and ensure a thorough clean.

3. Soak in Warm Water: Fill a sink or bucket with warm water and add a few drops of dish soap. Place the handles in the water and let them soak for about 10-15 minutes. This will help to loosen any built-up grease and grime.

4. Scrub with a Toothbrush: After soaking, take a toothbrush and gently scrub the handles to remove any remaining dirt and grime. Pay special attention to the crevices and corners of the handles, where dirt tends to accumulate.

5. Rinse: Once you have scrubbed all the handles, rinse them thoroughly with clean water to remove any soap residue.

6. Dry: Use a microfibre cloth to dry the handles completely. This will prevent water spots and streaks from forming on the surface.

7. Clean Non-removable Handles: If your cupboard handles are not removable, you can still clean them by using a sponge or cloth dipped in the warm soapy water. Gently scrub the handles, making sure to get into all the nooks and crannies.

8. Wipe with a Disinfectant: After cleaning, it's important to disinfect the handles to kill any remaining bacteria or germs. You can use a disinfectant spray or wipe specifically designed for kitchen surfaces. Make sure to follow the instructions on the product for proper usage.

9. Dry Again: After disinfecting, use a clean microfibre cloth to dry the handles once more.

10. Reattach Handles: Once the handles are completely dry, you can reattach them to your cupboards using a screwdriver.

We hope this has helped
