How to Keep Indoor Exposed Bricks Clean

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

Regularly wiping down exposed bricks with a damp cloth can help keep them clean. For tougher stains, a mild soap and water mixture can be used. For more stubborn stains, a store-bought cleaning product designed for brick can be used. It is important to always test any cleaning product in an unobtrusive area before using it on the entire wall.

Additionally, avoid abrasive cleaning products, as they can damage the brick.

To preserve the colour of the bricks, it is also important to use a protective sealant after cleaning. This will help protect against further staining and minimise fading of the colour. The sealant should be applied to all brick surfaces, including mortar joints, using a paintbrush or roller. For best results, allow the sealant to dry completely before use. Additionally, it is important to re-seal the exposed bricks every 1-2 years as needed.

Finally, it is important to avoid using bleach or acidic cleaning products on exposed bricks, as both can cause discolouration or damage the bricks. If possible, also avoid using any cleaning product with a high pH, as this can lead to staining. For any other questions or concerns, it is best to consult a professional for additional advice.

We hope this has helped
