What Is The Best Way To Clean Electrical Outlets

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

The best way to clean electrical outlets is firstly to turn off the power at the fuse box and use a damp cloth. Be sure to avoid getting any water inside the outlet. Use a dry cloth or cotton swab to dry thoroughly. If the outlet is particularly dirty or greasy, you may want to use a degreasing product to remove the dirt or grease. Be sure to follow the instructions on the product and take proper safety precautions.

Once you’ve finished wiping down the outlet with a damp cloth, use a dry microfibre cloth or cotton swab to make sure all of the moisture is gone. It’s important to make sure that no water is left inside the outlet, as this could cause electrical issues or damage the outlet and any devices connected to it. Finally, use a vacuum cleaner attachment to remove any dust that may have accumulated in or around the outlet.

If any debris is lodged into the outlet, avoid using sharp objects to try and remove it, as this could cause damage to the outlet. Instead, use a small brush, such as a toothbrush, to gently remove the debris.

Once the outlet is completely dry and free from debris, turn the power back on at the fuse box.

We hope this has helped
