How To Clean A Kitty Litter Tray

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

1. Empty the litter tray completely and scoop out any solids and discard them in a sealed bag in an outside garbage can.

2. Thoroughly rinse out the litter tray with hot water and a mild detergent. Make sure to scrub any areas with dried-on waste. Rinse off any detergent residue.

3. Next pour in around 4-500ml of disinfectant directly on to the kitty litter tray surface and make sure to mix around the tray base and walls so all internal tray surfaces have disinfectant applied to them. After a few minutes rinse out and set the tray aside to air dry.

4. Wipe down the area surrounding the litter tray with a damp cloth or paper towel and a mild detergent. Make sure to get into any crevices where waste may have spilled over or become stuck.

5. Once the litter tray and surrounding area are dry, add fresh litter or replace with fresh litter if necessary. Use a scoop to remove any solid waste daily (or more often if needed) and dispose of properly in a sealed bag in an outside rubbish bin or alternatively flush down the toilet.

6. You may want to consider changing out all of the litter every 2-3 weeks to ensure maximum cleanliness and odour control. Dispose of used litter in a sealed bag in an outside rubbish bin.

We hope this has helped
