How To Clean A Recycling Container

Hi everyone, Tim here from Chasing Pristine with another tip while home cleaning

1. Start by removing all of the materials or objects from the recycling container. Place them in a separate container or bag to be recycled.

2. Use warm, soapy water and a soft cloth to clean the outside of the recycling container. Pay extra attention to areas where dirt and grime may have accumulated.

3. For tough stains or persistent dirt, use a mild abrasive cleaner, such as baking soda or white vinegar, and an old toothbrush or soft scrub brush for scrubbing. Make sure to rinse the container thoroughly when you’re done.

4. Use a wet cloth to wipe the inside and bottom of the recycling container to remove any debris that may have been left behind.

5. To disinfect the inside of the recycling container, use a mixture of 1/4 cup of bleach and 5 litres of water. Wipe the inside of the container with this solution, making sure to get into any corners or crevices. Then rinse with clean, warm water.

6. If you have a lid then leave it off and allow the recycling container to air dry completely before replacing any items inside.

7. If the container is made of plastic, it can be wiped with a disinfectant spray. Allow the spray to sit for a few minutes before wiping off with a damp cloth.

8. Once the recycling container is completely dry, replace all of the items inside and your recycling container is now clean and ready for use!

We hope this has helped
